How this site verifies, restates, and ranks
Every editorial rule here was written before any ranking was assigned, and applies unchanged to every program — including our featured partner. This is the page every number on the site ultimately answers to.
1 · Restatement: one unit for every price
Sellers quote in whatever unit flatters them: 4-week cycles, calendar months, quarters, prepaid years, first-month promos. We convert everything to a true month of 30.4375 days before comparing. The math is one line — price ÷ days in the billing cycle × 30.4375 — and it changes real rankings: a "$249/month" billed every 28 days is $270.62 per true month and $3,247 a year, because that cycle bills 13.04 times annually. Where a rate requires prepayment (an annual plan billed up front), we say so next to the number rather than letting it pose as a monthly price.
2 · Provenance: three tiers, never blurred
First-party means we walked the seller's own published pages on a stated date and recorded what they said, with the URL. Reported means a third-party tracker published the figure with its own check date; we cite the tracker and the date, and queue the program for first-party verification. Queued means tracked with no defensible number yet — the program appears in the roster, not in ranked tables. A Reported figure is never promoted to Verified by the passage of time, only by our own dated check. And a Verified figure ages out: past 90 days it is flagged stale in the API and drops from the verified totals until a fresh dated check restores it.
3 · Conflicts: shown, not averaged
When sources disagree — one tracker reports $179 while another reports $349–$449 for the same program — we print both with their dates and flag the row. Averaging conflicting reports manufactures a number nobody published; showing them tells the reader the one true thing we know, which is that the price is unstable or basis-dependent.
4 · Ranking rubric: five checks we can verify
Ranked and "best" pages score only structures that can be checked against a seller's own pages: the billing calendar (calendar-month beats 4-week), all-in clarity (one number covering medication, consults and shipping), the dose-ladder policy (flat at every dose beats entry-dose bait), membership fees ($0 beats stacked), and provenance (verified beats reported). We do not publish invented editorial scores — no "8.2/10" for a checkout we haven't walked — and service-quality scoring waits until we have first-party evidence to score.
5 · The featured-partner firewall
Featured placement on this site is paid and labeled where it appears, and the publisher has commercial relationships with one or more of the providers it lists — stated in full on the ownership & funding page. Those relationships buy the slot, never the score: the rubric below was published in advance and applies unchanged to every program, partners included.
6 · Health claims and citations
Clinical statements cite the primary source (trial name, registry, or FDA document) and are checked by a human before publication; drafts produced with AI assistance are marked internally and verified against PubMed and fda.gov before going live. We name what compounded products are — not FDA-approved, not therapeutically equivalent to brands — on every page where a price appears. We will not attach a "medically reviewed" badge to any page until a named, licensed, NPI-verifiable clinician has actually reviewed it; there is no such badge on this site today.
7 · Freshness and the change log
Money pages are re-checked on a 30-day cadence or when a reader flags a change; every check updates the visible date on the row it touched. The JSON mirror of the dataset lives at /api/prices.json, regenerated with every build; a public change history (date, provider, field, old → new, source) ships alongside it. Errors are handled under the corrections policy — corrected in place, noted at the bottom of the page, never silently.
What we don't do
No availability claims without a source. No "N providers ship to your state" headlines built from scraped rosters. No fabricated reviewer identities. No averaging of conflicting prices. No use of the word "independent" to describe this site while a provider relationship exists — the honest terms are reader-supported and affiliate-supported, with the relationship disclosed.
